Assistant Site Manager / Site Manager (Step Up Opportunity) Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 (Dependent on Experience) Location: East Sussex / Mid-Sussex Start: ASAP | Contract: Permanent Atkinson Baker Associates are currently recruiting for a Specialist Regional Main Contractor known for delivering bespoke, high-quality projects across Sussex. We are looking for an ambitious Assistant Site Manager who is ready to take the step up to run their own site as a Site Manager. The Opportunity Our client builds high-specification residential and commercial projects. They are specifically looking for a candidate who has gained experience working on larger schemes (Tier 1 or Volume Housebuilding) and is now looking to apply that rigorous structure and organisation to a boutique environment where quality comes first. This is the perfect environment to make that transition. You will have the autonomy to run the project but with the support of a Director-led team. Key Responsibilities Taking full ownership of day-to-day site operations. Programming: Writing and managing short-term programmes and look-aheads. Managing sub-contractors and ensuring high standards of finish. strictly adhering to CDM regulations and Health & Safety compliance. Liaising with clients and design teams. Requirements Essential: Ready to step up. You may be a Senior ASM or a Number 2 feeling a "glass ceiling" in your current role. Essential: Experience in Residential construction (strong knowledge of both Traditional and Timber Frame build methods). Beneficial: Exposure to Commercial or mixed-use projects. Essential: Ability to write programs (not just read them) and a strong grasp of CDM. Location: Based in East Sussex or Mid-Sussex (Lewes, Haywards Heath, Uckfield, Brighton areas).
