Role
As the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for the core reporting of subsidiaries within the Group. You will liaise and co-ordinate with other finance personnel to ensure that all transactional items are correctly booked into the Group financial system (currently Microsoft Dynamics). You will also be responsible for ensuring that all financial operating activities are carried out in compliance with accounting standards and that records are available as part of the annual audits of the Group and individual entities.
You will have responsibility to ensure that all regulatory compliance and statutory returns including VAT and Corporation taxes are completed in a timely manner.
This role reports to the Director of Finance and will require collaboration with other finance team members.
Responsibilities
* Strong professional experience in financial accounting
* Booking month-end and periodic journals
* Assisting with Inter-company reconciliations
* Booking fixed asset accounting journals and monthly depreciation
* Maintaining transfer pricing charges and analysis across the group
* Strong understanding of payments products and billing systems that operate in an international context
* Working with external tax advisors and accountants to file annual tax returns
* Preparing VAT returns and annual consumption tax returns
* Assist group auditors and prepare supporting documents for the audit
* Ensuring compliance with current regulations, international group and internal policies
* Maintaining, developing and implementing finance systems updates and changes to improve finance efficiencies.
* Work and liaise with other departments to complete and review Product reconciliations (e-disti products)
* Strong technical accounting knowledge including IFRS compliance
* Good understanding of IFRS 15 revenue recognition
* International experience and consolidation of entities
* Good understanding of financial systems
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
* Ability to work in a dynamic environment
* Fluent written and verbal English skills
* Advanced reconciliation skill
* Curious and keen to listen and learn.
* Excellent communication skills, able to effectively work with varied internal and external stakeholders.
* Flexible, able to occasionally travel as required.
