You will support pupils with SEMH and SEND needs to access learning, develop their social and emotional skills, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally. Working closely with teachers and therapists, the role is focused on helping create a safe, engaging and supportive learning environment where pupils can thrive and feel secure. Your responsibilities The role involves providing 1-2-1 and small group support, assisting pupils in accessing learning activities and encouraging their social development. The Teaching Assistant will help manage complex and challenging behaviours in a positive and consistent way, using patience and strong communication skills. You will work collaboratively with staff to support teaching and learning and contribute to maintaining a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment for all pupils. What you will need GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and maths (or equivalent qualification) Experience working with children or young people, ideally within SEMH, SEND or behavioural support settings Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to undertake further training and therapeutic development.
