An exciting opportunity to work within the Trust Transport Department as required. The driver is responsible for driving, service users/patients to A&E and outpatient departments, transferring patients between different Mersey Care units including high secure units, and transferring service users/patients to hospitals and courts nationwide. Additionally, the driver transports staff, goods, and trust visitors utilizing the appropriate trust vehicles.
The successful candidate must have a D1 driving licence and CPC qualification.

Responsibilities
* Transport service users/patients between units, hospitals, court hearings, and other locations nationwide as directed by management.
* Participate in mandatory training and performance management, maintaining up-to-date qualifications.
* Follow trust and departmental procedures.
* Perform daily vehicle maintenance checks and ensure vehicles are clean and fit for purpose.
* Accurately record duties, driving hours, mileage, activities, and other relevant information.
* Report incidents and accidents to the line manager promptly.
* Transport service users safely between their residences and designated locations.
* Operate GPS systems and maintain communication with the Transport Office.
* Assist patients and staff with entering and exiting vehicles safely.
* Secure wheelchairs within vehicles after appropriate training.
* Maintain relationships with management, staff, and clinical teams.
* Transport oxygen supplies safely across trust sites following HSE legislation.
* Assist with cleaning spillages and maintaining vehicle hygiene.
* Ensure toilets on vehicles are emptied after use.
* Work on an 'On call' basis to provide 24-hour transport services as required.
