We’re recruiting a Pastoral Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH provision in North Tyneside, supporting pupils who need consistency, understanding, and someone firmly in their corner. You’ll help pupils navigate the school day — from morning check-ins to debriefs after challenging moments. You’ll be that steady, reassuring presence who helps turn difficult days into opportunities for growth. Key responsibilities: Provide daily pastoral and emotional support to pupils Support with behaviour management and restorative practice Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and staff Encourage attendance, engagement, and progress We’re looking for someone who: Has experience working with young people in SEMH, youth work, or care settings Can stay calm, patient, and supportive during challenging situations Brings empathy, humour, and strong teamwork to the role You’ll have access to ongoing professional development, free Thrive training, and a consultant who genuinely supports your career.
