SEMH Teaching Assistant – Chorley – Temp to Perm
Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a resilient, compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist independent provision in Chorley on a temporary-to-permanent basis.
The school provides bespoke, nurturing education for pupils who require additional support to thrive both academically and emotionally. The staff team is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive environment that promotes positive behaviour, emotional regulation and personal development.
Role:
Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
Support the class teacher in managing behaviour and implementing individual learning plans.
Help pupils develop confidence, self-esteem and coping strategies.
Work closely with other professionals to deliver a holistic approach to education and wellbeing.
About You:
Experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour or additional needs (education, care or youth work backgrounds welcome).
Calm, patient and consistent with excellent communication skills.
Confident setting clear boundaries and using positive behaviour strategies.
Flexible and proactive, with a genuine passion for making a difference.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
