Plant Fitter Location: Barking Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Overtime + Company Vehicle + Benefits Job Description An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mobile Plant Mechanic to join a busy and growing engineering operation covering Barking and the surrounding areas.This role would suit somebody with a strong background within plant hire, heavy plant, construction equipment, agricultural machinery or powered access equipment who enjoys working in a field-based position.The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of plant and hire equipment across customer sites and depots, ensuring machinery is maintained to a high operational and safety standard.Responsibilities Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on plant and hire equipment at customer sitesDiagnosing faults across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systemsCompleting planned preventative maintenance (PPM)Responding to breakdowns and carrying out reactive repairsConducting inspections and pre-delivery inspections (PDIs)Completing service reports and associated paperwork accuratelyMaintaining company vehicle, tools and equipment to a high standardLiaising directly with customers and maintaining strong working relationshipsEnsuring all work is completed in line with company health & safety proceduresEquipment May Include ExcavatorsDumpersRollersTelehandlersForkliftsCompressorsGeneratorsSmall and Large Plant EquipmentRequirements Previous experience within plant hire, heavy plant or construction equipment industriesStrong mechanical fault-finding abilityGood knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systemsAbility to work independently in a mobile field-based roleStrong customer-facing communication skillsFull UK Driving Licence essentialRelevant engineering qualifications advantageous (NVQ, City & Guilds, Plant Maintenance etc.)Package £40,000 - £45,000 basic salaryOvertime opportunitiesCompany vehicleMobile phoneCompany pensionOngoing training and developmentLong-term progression opportunitiesStable and growing businessImmediate starts availableTPBN1_UKTJ
