Croydon Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) are looking for an enthusiastic receptionist/administrator with significant experience to join their friendly admin team. We are seeking an experienced team player to support and work alongside our existing receptionist and team of administrators.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide an effective and efficient reception service and be the first face‑to‑face contact for families, carers and members of the child/young person’s network, ensuring a responsive and sensitive experience.
* Perform administrative duties such as typing correspondence, completing templated letters and other tasks to deadlines.
* Manage and oversee the Trust patient database: input referral and patient information, monitor and update operational data quality, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
* Answer and signpost calls, email clinicians, liaise with physicians for medication, deal with post and maintain the reception area (restocking leaflets, signing‑in procedure for families and visitors).
* Enter data into the Electronic Patient Journey System (ePJS) – training offered for those without prior experience.
* Act independently to prioritise daily tasks, manage multiple tasks within working hours while maintaining quality standards.
* Organise booking of interpreters and translation of correspondence where appropriate.
* Contact the Trust Estates and Facilities Department to report works, order and track stationery and stock for the team.
* Train to act as a nominated fire warder, first aider and/or health and safety champion.
* Provide cover for colleagues within CAMHS sites as needed and attend administrative team meetings to review systems.
Key Qualifications
* Excellent communication skills and telephone manner with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload.
* Attention to detail and strong literacy skills for producing standard letters and data entry.
* Experience with ePJS is an advantage but not essential; training will be provided.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced outpatient reception environment.
