In these hands-on roles you will be emersed into the heart of our state-of-the-art Technical and Manufacturing facilities where we drive engineering and innovation to the limit to develop cutting-edge Formula 1 power units. The Engineering Software team plays a crucial role in driving business performance at Red Bull Powertrains. By supporting all technical and manufacturing departments, they develop and implement best practices that streamline processes, improve efficiency and enhance collaboration. This team is fundamental to ensuring we operate at the highest level—supporting our mission to be the best team on the grid.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Contribute to all stages of the embedded control, calibration, and application process of optimising single cylinder and multi cylinder engines as well as hybrid power units - from controls strategy, embedded software validation, engine calibration and testing, to on track deployment of the 2026 Power Unit
2. Work within a team of engineers to define and develop and test embedded software strategies for PU control and performance optimisation
3. Applying engineering principles to understand the systems level interactions of the Power Unit to deliver on track reliability and performance
4. Building and validating numerical methods for calibration and application analysis to maximise performance and reliability
5. Interpreting and reporting data through technical documentation and presenting insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
6. Collaborating closely with all the technical teams to deliver world-class engineering solutions
7. Gaining direct exposure to the 2026 Formula 1 season and contributing to the future of Red Bull Powertrains

We’re looking for passionate, curious, and driven undergraduates who are eager to push the limits of engineering innovation in a fast paced, high-performance environment. Expected knowledge, experience & attributes of the successful candidates:

8. Knowledge and experience from at least one year of undergraduate study on either an engineering, mathematics or physics degree course
9. A solid understanding of engineering principles and the ability to apply mathematical methods to solve real-world problems
10. Familiarity with engineering software such as CAD, FEA, CFD, or system modelling (training will be provided)
11. Experience with handling and analysing data from simulations or physical tests, and confidence in preparing high-quality technical documentation
12. Positive, can-do, attitude and willingness to learn new skills
13. Ability to follow best practice and work on multiple tasks simultaneously
14. Excellent communication skills and experience working in a team environment
15. Ability to break complex technical problems down to fundamental principles and understand the contributing physics
16. Ability to demonstrate a genuine passion for engineering through involvement in extra-curricular projects, previous placements, or work experience
