We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic English Teacher who is passionate about raising student achievement and inspiring a love for language and literature. The successful candidate will:
Deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3 to 5, planning and delivering engaging lessons that stretch and challenge all students
Use assessment data to monitor progress, identify gaps, and adapt teaching accordingly
Foster a classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour, mutual respect, and high expectations
Contribute to the development of the English curriculum, ensuring content is well‐sequenced, relevant and inclusive
Collaborate with department colleagues to share excellent practice, moderate work, and support student outcomes
Provide support and guidance to students, including feedback on work, extra help where necessary, and encouragement for them to achieve their full potential
Participate in whole‐school initiatives, pastoral duties, and contribute to school life beyond the classroom

Person Specification (Essential)
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Relevant degree in English, English Literature or related field
Demonstrable experience teaching English at secondary level, with good outcomes in GCSE and/or A-Level (if applicable)
Strong subject knowledge and up‐to‐date pedagogical practice
Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues
Commitment to continuous professional development

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
