The role
We are currently seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Setter to join our Injection Moulding team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established and forward-thinking business that values quality, precision, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform all aspects of tool changes, from removal to production handover.
* Prepare, set, and monitor injection moulding machines with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Clean and prepare tools for storage between production runs, ensuring readiness for future use.
* Conduct tool condition inspections and report findings.
* Perform minor in-house tool repairs as required.
* Carry out daily safety checks to maintain a safe working environment.
* Clean and prepare machines for production handovers.
* Repair water and oil leaks in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
* Handle bulk materials safely and efficiently.
* Always adhere to safe working practices and company procedures.
* Support ad-hoc maintenance tasks across the Injection Moulding department and other areas as needed.
* Assist with tool trials and material trials for process optimisation and product development.
* Set up new tools and products in line with production requirements.
* Pre-prepare moulds and machines ahead of scheduled production runs.
Requirements
* The ability to set and operate plastic injection moulding machines
* Injection moulding fault finding experience
* Machine operating experience up to 1000T (Yizumi, Negri Bossi)
* Experience moving/handling/turning moulds up to 6 tonne in weight, using overhead crane (licence required)
* Experience with core tools essential
* Processing PP, filled PP, HIPS in both virgin and reprocessed grade
* Methodical approach to material trials
* Good housekeeping
* A proactive work ethic
* Working as part of a team
* Experience with robots and sprue pickers would be advantageous, but not essential
* Adherence to health and safety legislation and procedures, including risk assessments, COSHH, and safe lifting techniques.
Salary and benefits.
Weekly Shift Rotation of 40 hours per week:
* Days - Monday to Friday 6:00am to 2:15pm
* Nights - Sunday 8:00pm - 6:15am Monday to Thursday 10:00pm - 6:15am
* Afters - Monday to Thursday 2:00pm - 10:15pm Friday 2:00pm - 11:00pm
Up to £37,000 per annum
