Job Responsibilities
1. Undertake standard service activities including load bank & building load test proving, and major & minor diesel servicing.
2. Carry out contract maintenance and inspections on a planned basis to Vertiv standards.
3. Install temporary generating plant.
4. Identify opportunities for additional works (SQD) & provide recommendations.
5. Perform remedial work for contract customers, including planned repairs or call-out services. Be included in the 24h call-out rota.
6. Complete and submit relevant reports to service administration promptly after all site activities.
7. Conduct project surveys and lead projects.
8. Install and commission generator and AMF control systems.
9. Provide technical support to Sales Managers on customer sites and in the back office.
10. Diagnose faults and rectify issues in Electrical and Mechanical disciplines to support field engineering teams when needed.
11. Service LV switchgear.
12. Provide technical telephone support to field engineering teams as required.
13. Comply with all Company Health and Safety Requirements.
14. Ensure activities comply with International Trade Compliance Regulations and the Company ITC certification program.
Qualifications & Experience
1. Experience in the generator standby power industry or related fields.
2. National Level 3 qualification in electrical or mechanical disciplines.
3. Experience in electrical and mechanical fault finding & rectification.
4. Competency in either intermediate electrical or mechanical works.
5. Good understanding of PLC and microprocessor systems.
6. Good understanding of IT.
7. Experience servicing LV switchgear (advantageous).
8. Experience in a field operations role.
9. Experience in fault finding & rectification.
Person Specification
1. Self-motivated and results-driven.
2. Full driving license (essential).
3. Strong workplace and personal effectiveness skills.
