We have an excellent opportunity for a support worker to work alongside our client in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk.
Our client is a gentleman in his 50s who lives in his own accommodation with 24-hour care. He enjoys photography, film, motorbikes, sailing, and has recently started cooking his own meals with support from his care team. Due to an acquired brain injury, he has speech and language issues and requires support with mobility (though he is mobile), medication, community access, appointments, and daily needs like environment and cooking. He has a history of seizures but has not had one since 2022, and he follows a daily physiotherapy program supported by a physiotherapist at his residence.
Because of his support needs, the successful candidate can be either female or male, must be a non-smoker, hold a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle, be a clear English communicator, comfortable working with an engaged family, physically capable, and a confident cook. They should also possess soft skills such as clear communication, motivation, and the ability to build a supportive relationship with the client.
Hours: 24 hours per week over two days (08:00 - 20:00 with sleep-ins)
