Overview
Dexory is hiring an Electronics Technician to join Electronics Production at our on-site HQ in Wallingford, United Kingdom. You’ll build mission-critical wiring looms and electro-mechanical components. This is a results-focused role: quality, speed, and ownership are the fundamentals. You own your cell, your tools, your output and the standard of work. The job is on-site in Wallingford with occasional customer visits (a full UK driving license is ideal).
Team over ego: you mentor and share knowledge, pair on tricky rework and contribute to faster delivery. You’ll divide work between sub-system assembly and product assembly.
Responsibilities
* Build wiring looms and sub-assemblies as defined by the work instructions.
* Assemble the product as defined by the work instructions.
* Support the assembly, rework and debug processes of the robots and related activities to help achieve business objectives.
* Drive continuous improvement to ensure latest technologies and techniques are used in product and assembly processes.
* Assemble complex electrical and electronics assemblies from technical drawings, wiring schematics and assembly instructions.
* Build, route, and inspect custom cable harnesses and wire assemblies per schematics and build documentation.
* Assemble and integrate PCBs into electromechanical subassemblies and enclosures.
* Perform precision soldering (through-hole and SMT rework) and crimping to industry standards.
* Conduct visual inspections and functional tests on harnesses, boards and subassemblies.
* Assist in debugging and reworking faulty assemblies using standard test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
* Maintain build documentation and support continuous improvement through feedback to engineering.
* Follow ESD-safe practices and maintain clean, organized workstations.
* Collaborate with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and technicians to support full system builds.
* Conduct continuity, insulation resistance, and functional tests on completed assemblies.
* Perform troubleshooting and rework of faulty assemblies with minimal supervision.
* Document build issues and provide feedback for design improvements or manufacturability.
* Work with engineers and production leads to ensure high quality and consistency; adhere to production schedules and priorities.
Requirements
* Essential: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate/associate degree in electrical/electronic engineering or proven related experience preferred.
* 2+ years of hands-on electronics assembly experience, including cable harnesses, PCBs, and subassemblies.
* Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, PCB layouts, and assembly drawings.
* Familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620 or similar standards.
* Experience with manual build and assembly of complex high-precision systems; soldering, wire prep, crimping and connector assembly.
* Experience with hand tools, wire processing tools, and test instruments (e.g., multimeters, continuity testers).
* Strong attention to detail, quality-oriented mindset and ability to follow procedures.
* Knowledge of ESD handling and safety practices.
* Experience inspecting/testing assembled units to specifications and performing repairs.
* Working knowledge of health and safety procedures; flexibility for unsociable hours to meet program targets.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team; adapt to changing workshop priorities.
* Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn.
Desirable
* Experience in precision manufacturing (e.g., motorsport, industrial equipment, aerospace, automotive) or robotics/automation electronics.
* IPC-A-610 or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification; familiarity with ERP systems for tracking inventory/builds/documentation.
* Experience with low-voltage systems, embedded electronics, or sensor wiring; use of basic test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes).
* Positive can-do attitude.
