Job Summary
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Responsibilities
Reception
* Receiving patients consulting with members of the practice team.
* Handling completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.
* Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary.
Appointments
* Process appointment requests for today and future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
* Deal with visit requests.
* Process patient online access.
* Care navigation of patients' requests.
Computer
* Registrations of new patients – computer data entry and medical records.
* Process patients' change of address in computer data and medical records.
* Process repeat prescription request in accordance with practice guidelines.
Other Tasks
* Clear rooms after surgeries.
* Ensure building security – thorough knowledge of doors, windows and alarm.
* Make tea or coffee for staff.
* Any other tasks allocated by managers.

Health & Safety
The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others health, safety and security as defined in the practice Health & Safety Policy. They will use personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines and identify the risks involved in work activities, undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks.

* Experience of working in a GP practice preferable but not essential as full training will be given.

Working Hours
20 hours per week – Monday 8.00am - 1.00pm, Tuesday 1.30pm - 6.30pm, Thursday 8.00am - 1.00pm, Friday 1.30pm - 6.30pm
Pay Scheme
£12.72 an hour. Contract: Permanent. Working pattern: Part‑time.
About Us
We are a friendly GP practice with 10 doctors, 7 nursing team staff and a large admin and reception team. Based in Kippax, Leeds. We have 3 sites, one of which is a dispensing practice.
