Purpose of the role
To optimize and address Barclays' 3rd party spend requirements, including defining, developing, and implementing approaches for relevant spend categories and requirements, with close collaboration with the business and execution of strategic sourcing and buying channel development/optimization.
Accountabilities
1. Profile spend in the category area and develop understanding of business strategy, requirements, cost levers, and opportunities. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify sourcing needs, develop RFPs, and ensure sourcing activities align with the bank's needs and priorities.
2. Plan and execute sourcing events, including RFP/RFXs, and negotiate to meet business requirements for value, speed, compliance, and risk.
3. Monitor and guide controls and compliance requirements throughout the sourcing cycle, including regulatory engagement, controls, audits, and data quality.
4. Develop, implement, and operate policies and procedures for sourcing activities aligned with policies, standards, compliance, and regulation.
5. Identify and deliver change opportunities to improve the effectiveness, control, and efficiency of sourcing processes, including buying channel optimization.
6. Identify industry trends and developments related to sourcing and category management through conferences, training, and market research.
