Design Manager Role Description:

You will play a key role in delivering Design & Build projects from pre-construction through to handover, working closely with internal teams, consultants, and clients to ensure successful project outcomes.
This is a client-facing role, requiring strong technical understanding, coordination of design development, and effective programme delivery.
Typical Projects
The business delivers a diverse range of schemes, typically valued between £1m £15m+, including:
* Education facilities (schools, colleges, technical institutes)
* Healthcare & laboratory environments
* Commercial & office developments
* Industrial & manufacturing units
* Retail & leisure schemes
* Residential & mixed-use developments
Many projects are delivered via Design & Build, making this experience essential.
Design Manager Key Responsibilities:
* Managing projects through full lifecycle (pre-construction to completion)
* Coordinating and managing design teams and consultants
* Overseeing programme, cost, and quality delivery
* Ensuring compliance with H&S and contractual requirements
* Acting as the key point of contact for clients and stakeholders
* Driving a collaborative, solutions-focused project environment
Design Manager Candidate Requirements:
* Proven experience working for a main contractor
* Strong Design & Build project experience (essential)
* Background delivering projects in sectors such as education, commercial, healthcare, or industrial
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management xsngvjr skills
* Ability to manage multiple packages and design coordination
