Job Description:
Prospero Teaching is working with an outstanding Primary School in NE6 that is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil in reception with SEN. The role begins on 3rd March 2025 and continues for the rest of the academic year.
This position is for the full academic year with a strong possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.
Pay rate is negotiable depending on experience
The role involves supporting pupils' learning on a 1:1 basis. The successful candidate should be resilient and possess excellent relationship-building skills.

This role will involve:
* Supporting a pupil with SEN and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis.
* Managing challenging behaviour positively, proactively, and consistently.
* Building and maintaining positive relationships with Class Teachers to support the pupil and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities to promote progress.
* Preparing resources for learning activities and lessons.
* Supervising pupils during break and lunch times as required.
* Engaging actively with pupils to support their learning and build rapport.
* Liaising with parents and outside agencies regarding progress.
This role requires:
* An Enhanced DBS (preferably on the Update Service; we can process a new one if needed).
* A recognized Childcare qualification.
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
* A resilient, proactive, and positive attitude.
* Experience supporting pupils in a school setting, ideally with 1:1 support experience.
* High enthusiasm, energy, and positivity.
* A genuine passion for supporting young people to reach their potential.
* An enthusiastic approach and willingness to engage and form positive relationships.
