We now have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HLTA to join our team at The Holden School, part of Acorn Education.
The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced HLTA to provide high-quality education to pupils, supporting teachers and contributing to the curriculum in accordance with policies and standards.
Responsibilities
* Undertake activities with individuals, groups, or a class of children to support their development within a safe environment, usually under the supervision of a teacher.
* Carry out educational activities and work programmes, promoting independent learning.
* Help pupils make progress in classroom settings, ensuring equal access to learning opportunities.
* Assist in lesson preparation, resource development, and delivering lessons under teacher guidance.
* Provide feedback on lessons, pupil responses, and behaviour to teachers and students.
* Use behaviour management strategies to foster a positive learning environment.
* Ensure equipment and resources are used and maintained efficiently.
* Promote student self-esteem and independence, recognizing achievement.
* Monitor and evaluate pupil participation, progress, and achievement, providing feedback to teachers.
* Support the writing, updating, and evaluation of documentation related to individual students, such as IEPs and risk assessments.
Requirements
* HLTA qualification or equivalent
* SEMH experience is preferable
