The Quality Inspector is, as part of our Compliance Team, a critical part of ensuring our 'fit and forget' approach to product manufacture is protected at all costs.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining high inspection standards required for 1st level safety critical and all other products. Support and encourage the production staff through the development and implementation of quality standards and procedures. Encourage and develop best practice and assist in transferring this throughout the Company's work force.
On a day to day basis responsibilities include:
* Engage with production operatives to perform and sign off inspections stages as indicated in Process Specifications, ensuring assembly methods, techniques, testing and best practice are followed
* Perform final inspection of products ensuring compliance to drawing and specification.
* Perform Goods IN visual, dimensional and gauging inspection checks of received components to determine acceptance.
* Perform and review Radiographic Examinations to required test specification and standard. (full training provided).
* Conduct surveys of goods returned for inspection and write up a report for customer review.
* Assist with investigations for malfunction process and create documentation
* Apply the principles of lean engineering and process improvement in own work.
* Conduct internal audits as directed by the Quality Engineer.
Skills and Experience:
* Extensive experience of manufacturing processes, products and quality standards
* Having a background in mechanical or electrical component assembly/inspection
* Knowledge of soldering, ideally IPC 620 trained, however training will be provided
* Experience using manual inspection and calibration tools
* Team player, with a keen eye for detail and commitment to quality standards
* Good fault-finding skills
* Positive approach to work
* Good communication skills – verbal and written
* Ability to transfer skills and knowledge to others
