<div><h3>About this Role</h3><p>Cheney School is seeking a new Clerk to support our governing body. You will need basic administrative skills, good writing ability, and an eye for detail. This flexible role offers the opportunity to gain new skills. The governing body generally meets in the evenings, but the rest of the work can be done at home at any time. Meetings are held both virtually and at the school. Clerking for the full governor meetings and committees amounts to approximately 195 hours spread over the academic year, mainly during term time. Duties include attendance at meetings, preparation and follow‑up, and other tasks related to the governing body’s operations. Training will be provided for candidates without prior clerking experience.</p><ul><li>Timely circulation of agendas</li><li>Attending governing body meetings and producing accurate minutes</li><li>Monitoring governing body membership and attendance</li><li>Maintaining the register of governors’ business interests</li><li>Providing administrative support to the governing body</li><li>Providing advice to governors on their legal and procedural duties</li></ul><p>This role includes regulated activity relevant to children. The Trust requires a variety of checks and online searches as part of the recruitment process in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.
