We're here to help! ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE ABM UK is seeking an experienced and innovative Social Value Solutions Lead to take ownership of our social value agenda. In this role, you will lead with recommendations on the design and development of ABM’s social value strategy, ensuring it is outcome-focused, data-driven, and aligned to client needs, recognised frameworks, and internal ambitions. As the subject matter expert on social value, you will provide strategic insight and thought leadership, advising the business on emerging trends and opportunities that strengthen ABM’s competitive positioning. You will be responsible for the cohesive implementation of the strategy across supplier partnerships and internal programmes, while also supporting the business to create new engagement programmes that deliver meaningful outcomes for clients and communities. A core part of the role will include working with ABM’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to ensure their initiatives align with and reinforce the organisation’s commitments. You will also be expected to promote and represent ABM externally, delivering impactful presentations to clients, partners, and stakeholders to showcase our leadership in social value. While sustainability knowledge is essential, the focus of this role is on leading ABM’s social value solutions — designing, promoting, and embedding innovative approaches that meet client requirements and create long-term positive impact. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES · Lead with recommendations on the design and development of ABM’s social value strategy, ensuring it delivers measurable, differentiating impact. · Act as the social value subject matter expert, advising leadership on new developments, frameworks, and market expectations. · Cross-fertilise with ABM’s sustainability / ESG agenda, ensuring social value is fully integrated rather than siloed. · Collaborate with HR and Inclusion teams to align ERG activities with ABM’s broader DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) commitments. · Support the business with new engagement programmes, creating innovative initiatives tailored to client, community, and market needs. · Provide innovative, data-driven solutions that enhance ABM’s value proposition in bids, partnerships, and delivery. · Promote ABM externally through presentations to clients, partners, and stakeholders, showcasing our leadership in social value. · Engage with external networks — community organisations, government, third sector, and industry bodies — to co-create impactful programmes. · Collaborate with clients and suppliers to embed social value within contracts and supply chains. · Monitor, measure, and report against robust social value metrics. · Ensure supplier compliance and continuous improvement against social value and sustainability commitments. · Deliver training and guidance to raise capability across the supply chain and internal teams. · Manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously, ensuring delivery to deadlines and quality standards. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE · Proven expertise in social value strategy, frameworks, and delivery. · Strong knowledge of sustainability principles and ESG context. · 3–5 years’ experience in roles explicitly dealing with social value, CSR, community engagement, ESG, or related fields. · Experience designing, implementing, and measuring social value initiatives, particularly in contracts, supply chains, or bids. · Evidence of working across multiple stakeholder groups — suppliers, clients, community organisations, and internal teams. · Experience contributing to or leading on bid/tender submissions, embedding social value into proposals. · Proven ability to present and represent the organisation externally (e.g. conferences, stakeholder meetings, client presentations). · Skilled at using data and trend analysis to design, measure, and communicate impact. · Strong project management skills with the ability to deliver multiple initiatives simultaneously. · Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills. · Experience collaborating on DEI initiatives or with Employee Resource Groups. · Ability to bring forward innovative, practical ideas that achieve impact and competitive advantage.
