Job Title: Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer Location\: Warton. (On-site) Salary: Up to £58,000 dependent on experience What you’ll be doing: Supporting the organisation’s IT infrastructure across Windows and Linux platforms Designing, deploying and maintaining servers, storage, networking and security systems Installing, configuring and deploying IT hardware in line with infrastructure hosting requirements Investigating and diagnosing issues by gathering information from physical and digital sources, reviewing platform or assembly defects, and identifying all contributing factors Administering a virtualised production environment using industry-standard tools Your skills and experiences: Essential: Proven Wintel systems administration experience (Patching, Active Directory, Powershell scripting, DNS, DHCP, Windows Server 2016-2025) Proficient in VXRail/VMware (vCenter/ESXi, vSAN, NSX-T, SDDC) – Installing, patching, maintenance Demonstrating a detailed understanding of network architecture, with a focus on Palo Alto firewall and network security technologies Understanding and applying cyber security methodologies Desirable: Installing, configuring and supporting Linux operating systems Administering On Premise platforms, including Citrix and thin client technologies Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The Infrastructure Engineering team: You will have responsibility for delivering new enabling capabilities, developing and delivering systems and services, resolving infrastructure support issues and maintaining, managing and optimising the overall performance and availability of the infrastructure.
