SENIOR COMMERCIAL LAWER - 12 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT HIGH WYCOMBEHYBRID WORKING - 3 DAYS IN OFFICE; 2 DAYS FROM HOMERole Overview:Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment are presently representing a purchasing, procurement, and business services organization operating within the food and beverages space in their search for a Senior Commercial Lawyer to join their busy legal team on a 12 month fixed term contract. This business handle the purchasing and supply of specified and approved food, packaging, equipment and business solutions for a major, globally operating restaurant franchise.Reporting to the General Counsel, the successful candidate will be a visible and integral member of a cohesive legal team in delivering on its strategic objectives. The legal team supports the development and delivery of enterprise-wide goals and defends and protects the interests of the business and members. You will be responsible for a wide range of legal services and support across the business.Key Accountabilities:
* Working collaboratively with the internal stakeholders to advise upon, draft, negotiate and execute a wide variety of commercial contracts including framework agreements, purchase contracts, distribution agreements, services contracts, trial contracts, IT contracts, NDA's, letters of intent, termination notices.
* Advising and supporting the business on a wide range of legal issues including intellectual property, information technology, data, governance and compliance
* Drive self-service programme by delivering tools to support the business, including templates, protocols, guidance documents and delivery of legal training
* Having policies, processes and practices in place to ensure good governance and compliance at all levels of the organisation
* Identifying and managing legal risk for the business and its members
* Providing sound and solution-orientated legal advice to all functions
About You:
* UK Qualified Solicitor
* Experience in retail, FMCG, supply chain & procurement or fast paced environment (with an international footprint being an advantage)
* Understanding and experience of corporate transactions
* Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts
* Ability to give clear and pragmatic advice
* Broad technical understanding of all aspects of commercial law, including contract law, agency, competition law, data protection
* Strong collaborator and communicator who understands the importance of and enjoys cross functional working and stakeholder management
* Results driven - gets the job done
