Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to provide consistent overnight care, safety, and emotional support to children and young people with complex trauma, attachment needs, and behavioural difficulties living in solo residential placements.You will create a calm, nurturing environment, supporting emotional regulation, responding to incidents, and ensuring each young person feels safe and secure. The role is guided by trauma-informed practice, including PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) and Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP).Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a calm, reassuring presence throughout the night.Support young people with night-time routines, settling, and emotional reassurance.Monitor wellbeing and respond appropriately to distress, anxiety, or incidents.Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.Carry out regular welfare, safety, fire, and security checks.Accurately complete night logs, incident reports, and handovers for day staff.Support emotional regulation using de-escalation and co-regulation approaches.Maintain a clean, safe environment through light household and laundry tasks.Work closely with the wider team to ensure continuity of care.Requirements2 years of experience in children's residential childcare.Must have NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare.Strong understanding of safeguarding and residential care practice.Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient approach.Ability to work waking night shifts on a rota basis.Commitment to professional boundaries, confidentiality, and high standards of care.Apply NowThis is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference during the most vulnerable hours of the day.
