Job Summary
We are seeking a Trainee HGV Mechanic to join our team. This Role would suit someone who wants to progress there career into HGV Mechanics, Experience in mechanics is essential for this I.e. Car or Light commercial vehicles.
As a Trainee HGV Mechanic, you will learn and be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing various vehicles and equipment. Your expertise in mechanical systems and attention to detail will ensure the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on vehicles and equipment
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems or hazards
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot complex issues
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely repairs and minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and parts used
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times
Ensure the workshop remains clean and clear at all times, and help vehicles manoeuvring in yard to park in correct spaces.
Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Mechanic or similar role
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in diagnosing issues
- Strong communication skills
