The Head of Relationship Management (Regional) drives service and revenue through lending, working with intermediaries and directly with clients and customers. The HRMR leads a lending team who are experienced across a wide range of lending including bridging, property and portfolio Buy-to Let, asset backed and specialist lending ensuring GB Bank is a lender of choice.
In this role, you will:
* Drive revenue and good customer outcomes across a wide range of lending including bridging, property and portfolio Buy-to-Let, asset backed and specialist lending
* Ensure the Lending team is aligned with the bank's strategic goals and contributes effectively to the overall business growth and success.
* Create a strategic plan for building relationships and sourcing lending, ensuring lending targets are met
* Lead and manage the team of Regional Relationship Managers, driving the origination of new lending through enquiries to (and beyond) agreed targets
* Lead a team with expert and varied learning specialist and backgrounds
* Contribute to the team in driving revenue through an individual target setting good example and practice
* Produce and present management information which tracks team progress, lending pipelines, completions and any other data points which will continue to drive productivity and lending
* Ensure credible enquiries and applications through the credit approval process to completion in good time, with support from the Relationship Manager Support and the Loan Completions teams.
* Support the development and negotiation of loan proposals, from initial review to submission to the Credit Team, ensuring the application aligns with the bank's lending criteria and is approved for completion.
* Establish and maintain exceptional customer relationships, ensuring both new and existing customers receive outstanding service that promotes retention and long-term relationships.
* Ensure that the Relationship Manager team delivers exceptional service to brokers, maintaining GB Bank's presence as the top choice for their clients’ future lending needs.
* Create and maintain good customer outcomes ensuring all lending meets regulatory standards and requirements
* Manage and mentor the team to consistently meet and exceed their lending targets while ensuring high standards of service and compliance
* Work alongside the Portfolio team in conducting periodic credit reviews, covenant monitoring, and ensuring post-completion conditions are met for all existing customers.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key professionals in the property lending market, including clients, brokers, solicitors, and valuers, ensuring GB Bank is always the first choice for future financing needs.
A bit about you:
Key Skills and Experience
* Proven experience as a Relationship Manager or Director within property lending, ideally within the bridging finance or Buy-to-Let sectors.
* A successful track record of consistently meeting and exceeding lending targets, with a strong drive to achieve exceptional results.
* Extensive knowledge and presence in the property lending market, with a well-established network of brokers, introducers, and other key stakeholders.
* Strong credit knowledge and experience in lending to businesses, from inception to drawdown, with a particular focus on property-backed lending.
* Expertise in risk management, financial analysis, and core lending practices, with a deep understanding of bridging finance.
* A natural leader with strong business development skills, capable of motivating and guiding a team to success.
* Enthusiastic, proactive, and ready to make a positive impact both within the Bank and in the wider community.
* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a team of Relationship Managers to deliver outstanding results.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building long-lasting relationships with clients, brokers, and internal teams.
* In-depth knowledge of the property lending market and credit process, particularly in the areas of bridging finance and portfolio Buy-to-Let lending.
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse and structure complex loan proposals.
* A customer-centric approach, ensuring a high level of service delivery and fostering positive relationships
