A well-resourced primary school in Southwark is seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Teacher to join the inclusion team from January 2026. The successful SEN Teacher will work with a varied caseload, plan bespoke programmes for pupils with additional needs and collaborate with class teachers to ensure high-quality differentiation. This SEN Teacher post in Southwark combines direct teaching with strategic case management and close liaison with families and external specialists.

• SEN Teacher required for a full-time role
• SEN Teacher required to work within an inclusive primary school in Southwark
• SEN Teacher to lead targeted class and small-group support

The appointed SEN Teacher will design and deliver intervention sequences, assess progress using a range of tools and modify provision to secure measurable improvements. The SEN Teacher will also support the school’s graduated response and work with the SENDCo on statutory processes. Induction and planning time will be provided ahead of January 2026, preparing the SEN Teacher to lead from day one in the spring term beginning January 2026.

Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver personalised learning programmes that accelerate progress for pupils with SEND.
* Carry out formal and informal assessments and use evidence to adapt interventions and classroom strategies.
* Coach and support class teachers and teaching assistants to embed inclusive practice across year groups.
* Coordinate multi-agency input, attend review meetings and maintain accurate case records.
* Communicate sensitively and clearly with parents/carers about progress and next steps.

Person specification

* Qualified teacher with recent experience working with children with SEND and a clear track record of impact.
* Good knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, differentiation strategies and assessment approaches.
* Strong interpersonal skills, resilience and the ability to work collaboratively across the school and with external agencies.
* Organised and data-literate, able to evidence progress and adapt provision across cohorts.
* Able to start January 2026 and based in Southwark.
