Our UK division, Hidrostal Ltd, based in Castleford, is recruiting for a HSQE Manager to manage all aspects of Health, Safety, Quality and Environment to ensuring all accreditations are maintained and achieved ISO9001, ISO14001, ATEX/IECEx, Achilles Verify B2 and Safe contractor scheme and plan the Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental strategies and develop effective procedures in line with legal and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure that processes needed for the Management System (MS) are established, implemented, and maintained.
* Ensure company accreditations and audits are maintained and achieved where agreed.
* Manage the HSQE system to ensure that the relevant company’s Achilles Verify rating is maintained and improved.
* Determine the strategic direction (in conjunction with line management) for the continuous improvement of the Sites HSQE management programme and systems.
* Manage and coordinate systems to ensure that the products or services of the company meet the highest quality standards and that the working conditions of the company are safe for all employees.
* Report to management on the performance of the MS and any need for improvement.
* Liaise with the external assessment body on all matters related to the accreditation process.
* Advise line management and assists with the implementation of new or existing HSQE-related legislation, rules, and Company standards to include fire prevention, health and safety awareness training, site inspections of Company and contractors’ sites.
* Provide guidance and advice to the business on compliance with statutory requirements and company standards using guidance and observation visits.
* Proactively working with operational teams during a project to ensure that HSQE is considered at all stages and that relevant control measures are identified.
* Highlighting areas where poor practice and/or significant risk have occurred.
* Investigating incidents and produce detailed factual reports identifying root causes and recommendations for improvement.
* Working with senior managers on the development and implementation of divisional level strategies for risk and improvement (COTO Log).
* Keeping up to date with new legislation and best practices in the industry through regular reading of journals and relevant website/ site visits. (The Compliance People)
* Raise awareness on HSQE and sustainability issues through toolbox talks and briefings, delivering training where necessary.
* Preparation, issue & updating of HSQE documentation.
* Work with the management team to develop protocols and procedures.
* Work with management team on System Development & Improvement.
* Work with management team on all HSQE requirements for Framework Tenders for all Water Companies and authorities.
* Manage internal auditing process.
* Managing Health & Safety Routine Inspections. (Fire, Lighting, LEV, LOLER, PAT, Racking, etc)
* Chairing the Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental committees.
* Preparation and chairing of HSQE annual management reviews
* HSQE representation at the Business Review Meetings.
* Review & management of company HSQE objectives.
* Facilitate all forms of risk. (Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments, PUWER, DSEAR, etc)
* Develop and maintain the Business Continuity plans.
* Develop and maintain the Emergency Preparedness plans.
* Liaise with purchasing on the Supplier Approval Process.
* Manage the company Improvement System (MIB), using quality tools, 8D, 5 Whys, cause & effect, etc
* Manage NCR System on all products.
* Ongoing review of Environmental Aspects & Impacts
* Maintain in house training records with internal managers
* Complete HSQE induction for new employees.
* Monitor and report on the energy usage and waste produced.
* Create Quality and Safety Alerts
Qualifications/Experience Required
* NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma or equivalent
* CQI Certificate in Quality Management or equivalent
* Internal Auditor
* Proven experience of a HSQE Manager in a manufacturing environment
* ISO9001, 14001, 18001/45001 Experience
* Proven experience in driving changes and improvements

* Able to communicate well at all levels

* Analytical skills to interpret detailed information and regulations
* Proficient with MS Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
