Your new role
As Assistant Production Manager, you will play a key role in driving production planning, material efficiency, and digital transformation across the site. Reporting to the Head of Production, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining accurate production schedules, forecasting raw material requirements, and ensuring optimal stock levels. A major focus of the role will be supporting the implementation of ERP, MRP, and MES systems, helping to digitise planning processes and improve data accuracy. You will lead initiatives to reduce waste by at least 20% over the first year, build reporting dashboards, and contribute to lean manufacturing projects. Safety andpliance are also central to the role, with responsibilities including risk assessments, incident reporting, and promoting a culture of safety across the production team.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need 3–5 years of experience in production or material planning within a manufacturing environment, ideally in food or FMCG. You should have hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of improving planning accuracy and reducing waste. Familiarity with health and safety regulations, lean manufacturing principles, and digital systems implementation will be highly beneficial. A relevant degree in supply chain, manufacturing, or engineering is preferred, along with professional certifications in planning or continuous improvement.
