About the role
We currently have exciting opportunities with excellent career development potential for experienced Site Engineers to join our UKCS Construction team, working on various high-profile infrastructure projects in Scotland.
Successful candidates will play a key role in the planning and construction of the A9 Tomatin to Moy dual carriageway development framework, including earthworks, drainage, access tracks, structures, and utilities. This project is based in Inverness. Candidates must live within a commutable distance or be willing to relocate to Inverness for the project duration.
Relocating candidates will benefit from a subsistence package covering accommodation, travel, and daily costs, plus an additional relocation uplift.
What you'll be doing
* Support the senior project team in implementing the engineering strategy for the project;
* Manage materials, plant, and labour within budget and resources, ensuring safety and efficiency;
* Communicate systems, design info, procedures, and quality systems effectively;
* Support project delivery teams and verify work, providing technical support;
* Lead or support audits and meetings to ensure safety, quality, and best practices;
* Build relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers for design, development, and delivery;
* Maintain technical knowledge and industry standards;
* Coach and motivate the project team to deliver high performance;
* Manage engineering from conception to maintenance, considering site conditions and regulations;
* Oversee procurement, material control, and reporting;
* Ensure quality assurance and customer requirements are met;
* Contribute to progress and productivity reports;
* Implement digital tools for project execution;
* Live the company's values and focus on safety and sustainability.
Who we're looking for
* Experience and expertise in engineering discipline;
* Knowledge of industry best practices;
* Degree or professional qualification (desirable: MICE, MIStructE, ONC/HNC);
* Valid CSCS card;
* Focus, thoroughness, and management skills;
* Construction management experience and understanding of technical trends;
* Strong communication skills and customer focus;
* Innovative mindset and commitment to engineering excellence;
* Desirable: understanding of BIM models.
