The role involves providing comprehensive administrative and clerical support to clinical and non‑clinical staff to ensure the smooth running of the service.
We are NHS Lanarkshire, delivering care to a population of 655,000 across Northern and Southern Lanarkshire. Your role will be part of the mental health/addictions team based in HMP Shotts.
What we’ll need you to bring
* Educated to standard grade level or experience in a similar role
* Well‑developed interpersonal skills in customer care
* Excellent communication skills
* Good organisational and planning skills
* Understanding of a range of procedures and processes
* Ability to prioritise work and work on own initiative whilst under pressure
* Proficient IT skills including working knowledge of Microsoft packages
* Ensuring confidentiality, diplomacy and discretion are maintained at all times
It would be great if you also have
* SVQ 2 in Business & Administration
* Previous experience working in a busy reception area
* Experience in an NHS clinic setting
* Previous experience dealing with members of the public, delivery drivers, estates staff
* Working knowledge of NHS systems e.g. PECOS, SSTS, Trak Care, Room booking systems
* Knowledge of NHS clinical appointment systems e.g. Trak
* Willingness to deal with external sites on an ad hoc basis (e.g., empty car park token machine, car park barrier issues)
* Willingness/flexibility to cover annual and sick leave if required

Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in the Mental Health/Addictions team within HMP Shotts. The working pattern is Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Applicants shortlisted may also be considered for similar vacancies in alternative locations.
