About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Housing Team Leader to join our Housing Services Team. The role focuses on Part 7 of the Housing Act and leads frontline delivery of statutory homelessness services within a fast‑paced and challenging operational environment that is passionate about delivering person‑centred, trauma‑informed support.
You will have operational responsibility for leading officers undertaking homelessness assessments, prevention and relief work, and complex statutory decision making under Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996.
This is a pivotal role, requiring confident leadership, sound legal understanding, and the ability to balance competing demands while maintaining service quality, governance and staff wellbeing.
Qualifications
* Lead and inspire the Housing Service
* Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation and statutory processes
* Proven experience of managing staff in a frontline statutory service
* Confidence handling complex, high‑risk casework and performance issues
* The ability to lead calmly and decisively under pressure
* Coach and support team members to grow in confidence, resilience, and skill
* Excellent communication, judgement and organisational skills
Additional Information
The council is not currently able to offer sponsorship in this role. Candidates will need to have right to work that enables them to commit to at least 6 months employment. Right to work is not transferable from a sponsored role held with another employer.
