We are seeking a Software Assurance professional who can bring strong software development understanding into a quality‑driven, process‑focused role.
Please note this is not a software testing position, it's scentred on quality governance, lifecycle oversight, risk identification, configuration control, and process compliance across complex software/hardware environments.
What we’re ideally looking for:
Strong Software Background (Essential)
We are looking for individuals who understand how software is built end‑to‑end. This role requires the ability to engage confidently with engineering teams, challenge where needed, and support them in delivering high‑quality, compliant software.
Ideal candidates will have:
* Full lifecycle software development experience (design, coding, build, integration, release, etc.).
* Ability to understand technical discussions and translate them into quality and assurance impacts.
* Interest in moving into a governance or quality‑focused role, even if currently working as a software engineer or in a hybrid capacity.
Quality, Assurance & Lifecycle Governance
This role focuses on:
* Software assurance across the full development lifecycle
* Evaluating engineering processes and identifying risks or gaps
* Ensuring correct configuration management and documentation control
* Supporting teams in meeting relevant standards (e.g., ISO9001)
* Reviewing requirements, design documentation, and process adherence
* Providing objective assurance rather than executing tests or writing test scripts
Experience with quality standards and auditing is beneficial, but this is not a traditional audit role.
Success in this role requires: The ability to build strong relationships
* Confidence engaging with software and hardware engineering teams
* Clear communication and reasoning
* Working collaboratively with customers and internal stakeholders
* The ability to influence without authority
Preferred Experience & Backgrounds:
We’re open to a variety of paths, including:
* Software engineers seeking to transition into quality/assurance
* Engineers with experience in C/C++, embedded systems, or web‑based software
* Individuals comfortable working in combined hardware/software environments
* Candidates with understanding of configuration management, requirements management, and document control
Audit knowledge or ISO9001 familiarity is helpful, but adaptability and technical grounding are more important.
