Overview
Jameel Motors, in partnership with Chinese automaker GAC, introduces the AION range of electric vehicles to the UK market, marking GAC’s first entry into the region. With the launch of the AION V SUV and the AION UT hatchback, this joint venture seeks an experienced Product Manager to optimise and lead the product offering for the UK market.
About the Role
This role is fundamental to ensuring the needs and wants of the customer are reflected in the products AION produces. It allows the individual to own the product from its earliest stages and help define its core attributes, reasons for being and business case in partnership with other areas of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Identifying core car market developments, customer needs and overall trends to ensure the offering is advanced and competitive.
* Management, coordination and delivery of future technologies including infotainment, features, options, powertrain, dynamics, accessories and bespoke functions.
* Developing compelling business cases that demonstrate a strong understanding of the brand, the portfolio role, the reasons for the product, competitiveness and appeal to target customers.
* Ensuring close communications with key stakeholders including PMO, central and regional Sales & Marketing, Engineering, Finance, Aftersales and Logistics are developed and maintained.
* Preparing and supporting presentations and updates for management at key points in the development process.
* Identifying opportunities for knowledge sharing with model lines and other brands within the group and seeking potential for joint development and synergies.
* Supporting the launch of existing and future models/product plans with stakeholders (sales, marketing, engineering, program management, design & purchasing) to ensure all parties understand what is being delivered and why it benefits them.
* Developing product documents to support the education of retailers, customers, the media and internal associates.
Candidate Profile
* Significant experience in automotive product marketing, strategy, planning or definition.
* Proven track record in supporting the development of strong business cases and delivering product actions.
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate contracts, analyse data, and drive partner profitability.
* Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to deliver practical, results-oriented solutions.
* Deep understanding of the mainstream automotive sphere and new model development process, with a focus on the brand, customer and overall business case.
* Ability to present complex ideas clearly; strong networking and influencing skills; experience presenting to senior leadership.
* Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally as needed.
