BESS Project Manager (Battery Energy Storage Systems) London – hybrid – office presence required
£65,000-80,000 + bonus and benefits
MDE are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the construction and delivery of Battery Energy Storage projects. Many of the projects will be adding capacity to existing assets. This is a dynamic role with a balance of on-site and office-based work, involving coordination with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and results-oriented Project Manager with a background in energy infrastructure, specifically in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Key Responsibilities:
Manage Battery Storage projects from inception to completion.
Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and internal teams for seamless project execution.
Maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and risk assessments.
Monitor project progress, addressing issues proactively to meet deadlines.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards (CDM 2015).
Requirements:
~ Level 4 Qualification in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field).
~5-7 years of experience managing energy-related construction projects, especially BESS.
~ Proven knowledge of EPC contracts, procurement, and contractor management.
~ Proficiency with project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project) and financial reporting.
~ Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
