Job Description
As the operational lead for procurement, you will work closely with senior leadership to shape and implement a robust procurement strategy. Your focus will be on achieving best value for money, promoting sustainable procurement practices, and enabling social enterprise engagement. You will oversee high-risk procurement activities, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive process efficiencies and cost reductions.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and execution of the organisation’s procurement strategy.
* Oversee tenders and procurement activities, ensuring compliance and best value.
* Provide leadership and continuous improvement to procurement processes.
* Represent the organisation in purchasing consortia and procurement networks.
* Manage insurance procurement for the organisation and its subsidiaries.
* Deliver regular reports and insights to senior management and governance bodies.
* Lead and manage a team, fostering wellbeing, development, and performance.
We’re seeking a candidate with:
1. A-level standard qualification and a professional procurement qualification.
2. In-depth knowledge of public sector procurement regulations.
3. Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
4. Proven ability to lead procurement initiatives and deliver savings.
