Our client, a long-established and highly successful industrial business based in Middlesbrough, is seeking a Group Financial Accountant to join their team. Main duties/responsibilities:
* Manage quarterly financial reporting for internal executive and external stakeholders.
* Support year-end financial statement preparation, including accounting adjustments and auditor liaison.
* Prepare statutory financial statements under IFRS and UK GAAP, including iXBRL compliance.
* Conduct internal controls reviews and assess their effectiveness.
* Provide accounting solutions and support for corporate finance projects (e.g., refinancing, modelling).
* Assist in the 5-year business planning process, including model maintenance and assumption documentation.
* Handle ad hoc financial assignments as needed.
You will be/have:
* ACA/ACCA qualified with a strong technical accounting background.
* Proficient in IFRS and current accounting standards.
* Analytical mindset with a focus on understanding financial data.
* Experience in investment appraisal is preferred.
* Strong communication and IT skills, especially in spreadsheet use.
* Comfortable engaging with senior management across departments.
