Audit Supervisor – Top 50 firm
Watford | Hybrid | £50,000
A long-established and forward-thinking accountancy practice is looking to appoint an Audit Supervisor to join its audit and assurance team. The firm has a strong reputation for supporting mid-market and SME clients, while also delivering specialist audits across regulated and not-for-profit sectors.
This role would suit someone part-qualified or newly qualified looking to step into a supervisory position with exposure to a wide range of clients and strong support toward continued development and progression.

The Opportunity
This is an audit-focused role, offering the chance to supervise audits under the guidance of a Manager or Principal, while building both technical and leadership skills.
Core responsibilities include:
* Leading audits under the guidance of a Manager or Principal
* Managing on-site audit teams and supporting junior staff
* Assisting in audit planning, completion procedures, and preparation of management letters
* Reviewing working papers and ensuring audit files meet compliance standards
* Supporting the development and supervision of junior trainees
* Undertaking delegated tasks from Audit Managers to support workflow and client deadlines

The audit team works across a broad and interesting portfolio, including:
* UK SMEs and mid-corporates
* Larger group structures and entities with overseas subsidiaries
* UK arms of global companies
* Regulated and specialist audits including:
o Pension schemes
o Charities and not-for-profit organisations
o Solicitors (SRA audits)
o FCA regulated entities

The Ideal Candidate
The firm is seeking someone who can grow into a trusted member of the audit team. The ideal candidate will have:
* ACA or ACCA part-qualified or newly qualified status (with at least 2 years’ audit experience in a UK firm)
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to take initiative, multitask, and adapt to changing deadlines
* IT literacy and experience with accounting/audit software
* A team player approach, with a willingness to support others’ development
