Technical Services Manager - Fluid Power
Hayley Dexis has an exciting opportunity available for a knowledgeable Technical Services Manager to join our team based at our Fluid Power HQ in Halesowen. Hayley Dexis is the largest independent distributor of engineering products and consumables in the UK, offering hydraulics, bearings, fasteners, fluid power, PPE, tools, lubricants, and more. About the role
The Technical Services Manager role is twofold:
* Technical Lead – Our hydraulic workshop offers solutions to service and repair hydraulic power packs. Lead and develop the technical services offering and manage a team of technicians.
* Business Development – Work with the branch network to grow the technical services offering, engage branches, and upsell value-added solutions and services to customers.
You will be 50/50 office/site based with time spent with customers. A strong technical background in fluid power and hydraulics, combined with the ability to engage and upsell services, is essential. The salary is attractive and commensurate with ambition.
Key responsibilities
* Developing and mentoring a team of technicians (currently 6).
* Understanding current service offerings and developing a growth strategy.
* Building relationships across the branch network, providing technical expertise and assistance.
* Visiting and building relationships with new and existing customers.
* Providing technical advice and supporting our services and solutions.
* Managing the sales cycle from initial contact to closing deals, including presentations and demonstrations.
* Collaborating with the wider branch network on quotations and enquiries.
What we’re looking for
* Strong technical background in fluid power and hydraulics.
* Confident, engaging and collaborative style.
* Experience managing and developing a small team.
* Ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
* Good level of computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Typical hours are 8:30–17:30 with some flexibility.
