Job Description
The Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Team competes in the FIA Formula E World Championship, combining Lola Cars' motorsport heritage, Yamaha’s technology, and ABT Sportsline's expertise.
We are seeking a Junior Performance Engineer to support our performance team. This role is suited for a motivated and analytical engineer eager to develop into a trackside role. Responsibilities include simulation, Mission Control operations, and tool development, with a clear path to trackside duties.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support simulator sessions and live race operations from Mission Control.
2. Analyze simulation, car, and data to provide performance insights.
3. Assist senior engineers during races with real-time analysis and feedback.
4. Develop and maintain performance tools using Python, MATLAB, VBA, etc.
5. Present data-driven insights to the engineering team.
Candidate Profile
Required:
* At least 1 year experience in motorsport performance engineering (e.g., F2, F3).
* Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and motorsport engineering principles.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Proficiency with motorsport data tools, ideally ATLAS.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Nice to Have:
* Experience with simulation tools like Canopy.
* Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or VBA.
Education & Background
* Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or Motorsport Engineering or related field.
* Proactive, curious, and initiative-taker.
* Strong desire to learn and advance to a senior engineering role.
