The post holder will assist in providing a GP Out of Hours Service to patients of Western Cheshire by supporting the clinical team in a driving role.
The Trust supports the Real Living Wage (RLW) hourly rate set by the Living Wage Federation and will apply a pay supplement if the national A4C hourly rate falls below this.
Various part-time hours are available.
Driving Duties
1. Drive the duty doctor in out-of-hours vehicles to patients’ homes or satellite bases, planning all routes in advance.
2. Possess a current driving licence with at least 2 years of driving experience.
3. Be available immediately on call to drive to the centre and meet the duty doctor.
4. Complete vehicle checklist and equipment before shifts, reporting issues or restocking as needed.
5. Ensure satellite navigational equipment and roof lights are operational.
6. Load all necessary medical and non-medical equipment at the start of shifts and return items at the end.
7. Check and refill fuel levels using fuel cards.
8. Accompany the duty doctor into patients’ homes as necessary, following safety policies.
9. Drive safely according to the Highway Code and Advanced Driving Protocols.
10. Report incidents or accidents to the Operational Manager and complete incident reports.
11. Attend mandatory and in-house training.
12. Report any medical or legal issues affecting driving ability immediately.
13. Maintain vehicle cleanliness at all times.
