The Role
The role will entail conducting research and development projects within the following areas:
* Polymorphism screening.
* Salt screening.
* Cocrystal screening.
* Pre-formulation evaluation/ solid form selection.
* Crystallisation development to design processes suitable for clinical manufacture within a cGMP environment at scale.
The role will also involve:
* Collaborating with colleagues across chemistry development, process chemistry, analytical science and manufacturing to ensure seamless project delivery from lab to 50L scale.
* Solid form characterisation and data interpretation using state-of-the-art techniques and equipment (XRPD, DSC, TGA, DVS, microscopy, NMR, HPLC, LC-MS, etc.).
* Contributing to client discussions, technical reports and project presentations.
* Ensuring all work meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
* Ensuring standard operating procedures are followed at all times.
* Demonstrating good safety awareness, completion of COSHH assessments.
About You
We are looking for a driven scientist who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. You will have:
* A PhD in Chemistry or a related field (essential).
* Strong problem-solving skills with the creativity to overcome scientific challenges.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Experience of solid form characterisation and development would be an advantage.
* Strong time management including a good understanding of project schedules, commercial direction and departmental goals.
* Work effectively as part of a team, showing resourcefulness and reliability.
* Enthusiastic, flexible, conscientious and proactive in approach.
