Job Responsibilities
- Contribute to the breast MDT and play an active part in the further modernisation and development of the service.
- Play a major role in maintaining the 28 day, 31 day and 62 days targets for cancer patients and ensuring that other targets are met.
- Assessment, care and treatment of patients presenting to the breast service.
- Provision of clinical leadership in the delivery of a high quality breast service.
- Providing teaching and training at undergraduate and postgraduate level. A role in the teaching of medical students is expected.
- Participate in relevant audit and quality assurance processes, including reviews of manpower requirements.
- Be involved in research.
- Abide by the clinical and corporate governance policies of the trust.
- Undertake a minimum of one 360 appraisal in a five year period to comply with the Revalidation process.
- Participate fully in the annual job planning review.
Experience
- Full registration with GMC and a licence to practise.
- Entry on the GMC specialist register: (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview if it has not already been awarded).
- FRCS or equivalent.
- Sub‑specialty training in breast surgery at level of year 5 and 6 of the HST programme.
- Experience in oncoplastic and reconstruction breast surgery – preferable.
- Clinical training and experience equivalent to that of gaining UK CSST.
