The role
As a Head of PMO, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will play a key role in establishing and embedding governance and processes as well as developing capability across the Arrowhead business unit, whilst supporting future growth opportunities across the Arrowhead portfolio, both from a Business Development and project start up perspective as new programmes are won.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for delivering and managing the PMO functions programme specific capabilities and support plus wider Arrowhead functional objectives. Additionally, you will:
1. Responsible for the delivery of the Planning, Project Controls, Risk and Scheduling functions within the Type 31 (T31) programme
2. Responsible for functional Assurance and Governance within the Arrowhead business units
3. Responsible for the Arrowhead PMO resource plan and functional capability.
4. Managing the Customer and internal interfaces including identification and monitoring of programme risks.
5. Interfacing with Project Delivery Directors using key Project Controls and Planning data to measure programme performance and identify areas of focus required to achieve success.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 4 days in the office/onsite and 1 day working from home.
Essential experience of the Head of PMO
6. Extensive recent and relevant experience in a similar environment / business sector
7. Full project lifecycle experience from bid phase through to close out
8. Worked on programmes of varying type: including varying products, services, across all phases of the lifecycle.
9. Experience in contracting methodologies (e.g. FIDIC/NEC/JCT)
10. Cross functional awareness of lifecycle requirements for supporting functions
Qualifications for the Head of PMO
11. Ideally a bachelor's degree in engineering/project/construction management or a related field
12. A postgraduate qualification is also desirable, as is membership in a professional body
13. Mandatory (or agreement to attain in 12 months)
14. APM Chartered Professional (ChPP)
