New Meaning Centre: NMT Nuneaton Type: Full time, Permanent, All-year-round Hours: 37.5 hours Schedule: Monday to Friday 07:30–15:30 Salary: Negotiable and based on experience Job Reference: WARNUNCC042601 Closing date: 12/05/26 Start date: August 2026 Introduction Do you want a role where the care, compassion and practical experience you already have can genuinely change young people’s lives? You might currently be a nursery nurse, childminder, early years practitioner, care or support worker, residential care assistant, youth worker, family support practitioner, healthcare assistant, community outreach worker, or someone who simply finds themselves being the steady, dependable person others turn to. If you thrive on helping people feel safe, capable and understood, you may be exactly who we’re looking for. We’re recruiting two Community Care Tutors to help launch our brand‑new Introduction to Community Care course at our new Nuneaton centre. The centre opened in September 2025, and this programme will begin in September 2026 as one of three new vocational pathways for local young people. This is a rare opportunity to shape a new curriculum from the ground up. You’ll create a warm, practical, people‑focused learning experience where learners aged 16–25 can develop confidence, build essential life and work skills, and explore future careers in health, social care, early years, youth work and community roles. Many of our young people have additional needs or have struggled in mainstream education. They flourish when learning feels safe, calm, hands‑on and rooted in real life. As a Community Care Tutor, you’ll be the person who helps them believe in themselves again — guiding them through small steps, achievements and those powerful “lightbulb moments” that can change the course of their future. If you want a deeply rewarding role where your empathy, patience and experience truly matter, this is your chance to make a lasting difference. Key Responsibilities • Plan and deliver engaging, accessible sessions based on the Introduction to Community Care curriculum (Entry 3/Level 1). • Teach core topics such as person-centred support, safeguarding, equality, care principles, organisational roles, and understanding prejudice and discrimination. • Support learners to develop confidence, communication, life skills, and awareness of working in care-related settings. • Teach and embed Functional Skills in Maths and English at an appropriate level. • Build positive, trusting relationships with learners and adapt teaching to meet a wide range of needs, including SEND and SEMH needs. • Use trauma informed, relational approaches to behaviour and wellbeing support. • Maintain accurate records of progress, attendance, and EHCP outcomes. • Work collaboratively with LSAs, tutors from other pathways, and support staff to create a cohesive, nurturing learning environment. • Create opportunities for learners to explore career pathways, practice key skills, and prepare for adulthood. • Engage with parents/carers, external agencies, and internal pastoral teams where appropriate. You will have • Knowledge or experience of community care, health and social care, early years, youth work, or supporting vulnerable people. • A passion for helping young people build confidence and discover their strengths. • Experience teaching, training, coaching, or mentoring — or a strong willingness to develop these skills. • Ideally, a Level 3 Award in Education & Training (or willingness to work towards it). • Understanding of (or willingness to learn about) safeguarding, SEND, and trauma informed practice. • Strong communication skills and a warm, encouraging approach. • Good organisational skills and confidence with record keeping (training provided). • A calm, patient, reflective mindset and a commitment to nurturing young people. • Basic IT literacy (Microsoft 365). • A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential. Additional notes • All applicants must complete our online application form and provide a current CV as part of the recruitment process. • New Meaning Training is committed to safer recruitment practices in line with KCSIE. Appointment to this role will be subject to appropriate preemployment checks, including a DBS check at the relevant level. • All colleagues are expected to read, understand, and adhere to New Meaning Training’s policies and procedures, including those relating to safeguarding, professional conduct, and data protection. About Us New Meaning Training (NMT) offers education with a difference. We are an alternative education provider dedicated to helping young people aged 15-25 discover their strengths and develop the confidence and skills to earn their own living. All programmes incorporate functional skills qualifications in Maths and English, along with tutorials to support our well-rounded approach.
