Hours: Mon - Fri 9:00 - 17:30 (Flexible)
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 days working from home, 3 days office-based
Salary: Up to £35,000

Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the full ocean import operations process, from origin through to final delivery
* Liaise with global offices, agents, shipping lines, and suppliers to ensure smooth shipment coordination
* Negotiate freight rates to deliver best-value solutions for clients
* Select appropriate carriers and service options based on customer requirements
* Provide competitive quotations and monitor market trends
* Maintain clear and regular communication with clients throughout the shipment lifecycle
* Ensure accurate documentation to support customs clearance
* Coordinate delivery schedules with hauliers and transport providers
* Troubleshoot and resolve delays or shipment issues efficiently
* Manage invoicing, costs, and margin control accurately
* Support client visits alongside the sales team to build long-term relationships
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in ocean import operations within freight forwarding
* Strong knowledge of end-to-end import processes, including customs procedures
* Confident in negotiating rates and selecting suitable carriers
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
* A proactive problem-solver who remains calm under pressure
* Comfortable working with freight systems and Microsoft Office
