Overview
Appointment of Community Development Officer. Part time 25 hours per week, to include some evening and weekend work. Salary Scale SCP: SCP 18 – 23 (£31,537 to £34,434 pro rata), plus annual pay rise in accordance with NJC terms and conditions. Local Government Pension Scheme.
Responsibilities
* Bridgwater Town Council’s Community Team are seeking a proactive Community Development Officer to help plan, support and deliver a range of community facilities and initiatives, including our warm space initiative. This role plays a vital part in strengthening community engagement inclusion and wellbeing across Bridgwater.
* As Community Development Officer, you will:
* Build strong relationships with volunteers, local organisations and residents
* Support and developing a wide variety of community projects and activities
* Represent the Council at community meetings and forums and events
* Support funding applications and partnership resource development
Qualifications
* Confident in building relationships with diverse groups and individuals
* Passionate about inclusion, wellbeing and community engagement
* An excellent communicator with strong organisational skills
* Experienced in community development or a related field
