The prison has its own Healthcare department where you will be based and the primary care team consists of 10 staff. HMP Kirkham has a capacity of 700 males.</p><h3>Key Information</h3><ul><li>Salary: £34,428 – £41,659 per annum (depending on experience)</li><li>Hours: Monday‑Thursday 8:00‑19:00; Friday 8:00‑16:30; Weekend 8:00‑12:00 (one weekend in four); Rotas set 2 months in advance.</li></ul><h3>Benefits</h3><ul><li>On site parking</li><li>Staff gym access</li><li>On site farm shop and café</li><li>Training and development opportunities</li><li>Discounts on shopping and leisure activities</li><li>Support for professional development and career advancement</li><li>24/7 employee assistance helpline and financial assistance</li></ul><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Work within a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver a nurse‑led service and prevent hospital admissions.</li><li>Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and conduct reception screening.</li><li>Provide nurse‑led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi‑disciplinary team.</li><li>Deliver evidence‑based care, seeking out, listening to and acting on patient feedback to personalise care.</li><li>Deliver non‑judgemental care that makes a real difference.</li><li>Inspire excellence by forging strong links with partners and stakeholders.</li><li>Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence‑based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.</li><li>Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care and build strong multi‑disciplinary teams.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Registered Nurse (Adult) – National Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registered.</li><li>Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).</li><li>Understanding of the complexities of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working.</li><li>Non‑judgemental and compassionate approach.</li><li>Excellent communication skills.</li></ul><h3>Experience</h3><p>Although not essential, ideal applicants will have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.</p><h3>Legal & Checks</h3><p>Candidates must have a legal right to work in the UK.
