Planning Manager – Town Planning
Doncaster
£60k - £75k plus package.
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning Manager to join a top 10 UK homebuilder with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, affordable homes and large-scale regeneration projects across the UK. This is a high-impact role reporting directly into the Land Director, offering genuine strategic influence across land, planning, and delivery within a leading UK housebuilder.
The business is particularly known for working in partnership with local authorities and regeneration stakeholders, delivering multi-tenure developments and transforming brownfield sites into thriving communities.
The Role
As Planning Manager, you will take a leading role in the promotion, management, and delivery of planning applications across a varied residential portfolio. Reporting to the Land Director, you will work closely with Land, Technical, and Commercial teams to drive sites through the planning system efficiently and successfully.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Leading planning strategy across allocated developments and land opportunities
* Managing the preparation, submission, and negotiation of planning applications
* Engaging with local authorities, stakeholders, and external consultants
* Supporting land acquisition through planning due diligence and appraisals
* Providing planning advice to the wider business and senior leadership team
* Attending planning committees and representing the business externally
* Ensuring delivery aligns with regional growth targets and business objectives
We are seeking an experienced Town Planner with a strong background in residential development. You will be commercially aware, confident operating at a senior level, and comfortable influencing key stakeholders.
Key requirements:
* MRTPI qualified (or working towards)
* Proven experience within a housebuilder, consultancy, or local authority
* Strong knowledge of the UK planning system, ideally within Yorkshire / the North
* Experience managing major residential applications
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
* Ambition to operate at a strategic level within a regional business
